U13 boys : Oughterard - 0 Kiltullagh Pioneers - 3

The U13 boys travelled to Oughterard this morning for their first game in the championship. This was Oughterards 2nd game and it showed as they settled into the game quickly. It took some good handling by Luke Wilbur in goals and excellent central defending by James and Michael to keep Oughterard out. As the half developed great interplay between Dylan and Eli down the right turned defence quickly into attack and set up some opportunities. Over on the left Dara and Jack were combining well to set up attacks. Half time and despite playing against a stiff wind the game was scoreless.

Early in the second half our midfield of Owen, Nathan and Isaac started to dominate and we began to counter attack more. At times our goal lived a charmed life but Luke matched everything that came his way. It was from a long kick by Luke that our first goal arrived. Eric latched on to the clearance and ran 30 yards holding off 3 defenders and duly dispatched it yo the net. A second for Eric followed quickly in similar circumstances, this time a great through ball from Dara.
Eric was denied his hat trick after being set up by Harry as he was deemed off side.
Isaac with a fine strike got our third. Another great through ball saw Adam go on a run and then deftly chip the keeper only to be harshly judged offside.
A deserved win for the lads on a fine performance.
