U15s Galway Division 1 league. St Bernards 3-1 Kiltullagh

Today was a day that all the miles these lads have put in over the last few weeks has caught up with them. Missing a couple of lads with injuries and other commitments was not a help but all the boys who put on the jersey today gave it their all. Even when we were 3 down in the second half they were brave enough to keep going and not throw the towel in and pulled a goal back through Eoin Naughton. They fought hard but we were not getting any breaks and we just fell short. We will keep going and finish out the season. Who knows results might go our way. Next game at home v Oughterard 5th May at home. Time TBC.

U15 Galway Division 1 League : Loughrea 2 - 5 Kiltullagh

This game was played in conditions that none of us were used to, Brilliant sunshine. 💥   A very competent performance by the boys today. The drive is still there to try and win this league and this was obvious from the start with our first goal arriving after 5 minutes with a through ball played into the path of Michael Hardiman who applied the finish. We just kept the pressure on Loughrea for the whole first half and ge tting our reward for this pressure. Jack Moran played Micheal for his second. Lewis Dolan sent in an inch perfect free kick which Ronan Brett headed in. Eoin set Michael up for his hat trick and our fourth goal.   Loughrea pulled one back on the stroke of half time. We just told the lads to keep the pressure on and not to take the foot off the gas and fair play to them they did not. With the heat and the fact that 6 of them had hurling trials in the morning it's a credit to the squad of 14 we had on the day that we kept going to the end. Luke Ray had to go ...

Kiltullagh Pioneers & Earls Engineering go International - Ollie Fahy

Image
It was a   Friday   evening  April 6th when a team from  Self Help Africa Ireland represented Kiltullagh Pioneers of Galway in their first international on African soil. It was Ireland represented by Kiltullagh V Zambia represented by Alan Stars Kaoma Zambia. In 30 degree heat the game got off to the local cheering crowd in the Kaoma soccer field. After 5 mins Ireland were unlucky to go 1 down with an unfortunate OG from Ireland's goal keeper. The heat suited the locals with Kiltullagh trying to keep the pace and keep the pace they did with just 1 nill at half time.  The second half with Kiltullagh psyched up and were good enough to crawl one back with a superb cross in from Leitrims Ronan Kennedy to local come Kiltullagh Ireland transfer player Kande Le Le. Both teams batted well and could not be separated in the end. A penalty shoot out was required with the Zambians winning 8  to 6.   Team for Ireland was  kahilu ,kelvin, vincent a...

Well done to all teams!!

Kiltullagh Pioneers FC 3-0 St Bernard's.

By no means was this an easy game, we were on the back foot for a lot of the first half. A fine through ball to Michael Hardiman got us off the mark after 10 minutes. We still seemed just off the pace and were happy to get to half time 1-0 up. A few points were made to the players at half time. It's easy for coaches to talk, but going out on the pitch is a different thing. The lads played really well in the second half, stepped up to   the challenge and after Michael got his second we were in a strong position. The first instinct of this team is to keep the ball down and play football which they should never lose. Michael left his best goal to his third. A sweet chip in the last minute. There is no point in scoring 3 if you concede 4 at the other end. Our back 5 played really well building our attacks from our own half. Adam Davey made at least one brilliant save. Luke Ray was captain for the day and had his best game of the season. A good shift was put in by all 14 lads and a b...
