Kiltullagh 1 - 2 Renmore

Brendan, Tommy and Roy felt sorry for the lads today as the effort they put in could not be faulted. Just sometimes lady luck will not shine on you. We lost to a 90th minute corner. We had 7 or 8 corners in the second half and piled on the pressure but that vital winner did not come our way.
We had to call on a few u14s today as a few lads were away. The u14 boys who joined us all came direct from another match so fair play to Rian Earls, Fergus Deeley, Dean Keane, Niall Dillion and Mark Johnson for helping us out today.
It was a real top of the table clash the first half was tight but I'd say we had the better chances. Rowan Lane set up Ronan Brett for a shot that just went over the bar. Ethan Lally was brilliant on corners sending in some lovely crosses. Renmore had real pace on the wings but luke Ray and Rian Earls were brilliant all day against their wide men.
The whole back 4 were excellent all day. Galway United u15s have one of our players but thankfully we still have Adam Davey who made some brilliant saves again and was well supported by Ronan Maher who was brilliant in taking the ball out of and starting are attacks. Along with Lewis Dolan who is so versatile he finished the game off up front and nearly scored.
Ronan Brett in the centre of midfield won his battles along with Ethan and Cathal on the right of midfield who ran himself into the ground. Adam Johnson was on the left side of midfield and did very well testing the Renmore goal keeper with a fine strike from outside the box. Word of Michael Hardiman's five goals against Oranmore must have made it to Renmore because at times he had 3 men on him but that did not stop Michael causing havoc in their defence.
Half time it was 0-0.
Renmore scored with a minute of the second half with a long ball from a kick out. We were level within 5 minutes of going down from a Ronan Brett strike in the box. Again some great work from Rowan Lane in the build up. We came close a few time to scoring but lady luck did not shine for us.
Heads up, we still can win the league.
We will send a text out for the next training session.
